La Casa Del Habano Sydney.
La Casa Del Habano is a highly considered retail fitout delivered within a heritage-listed Sydney building.

This was a project that required careful navigation of client expectations, specialist mechanical engineering services and strict planning controls. From the outset, Unita worked closely with the client and designer to ensure the vision for a premium Cuban cigar store and smoking lounge could be realised without compromising the integrity of the original building.
A key challenge in this retail fitout was creating the walk-in humidor room in a space that previously had no air conditioning. A cigar humidor is a wooden box or room that keeps cigars fresh by maintaining a humidity between 65-72℃. This keeps the cigars from cracking, drying out or losing flavour.
With limited options to alter the façade, Unita collaborated with consultants and the council to engineer a compliant solution, resulting in a custom perforated glass shopfront that enabled ventilation while respecting heritage requirements.
Real timber finishes and bespoke detailing were retained as central elements of the brief, ensuring the final space reflected the client’s standards. The result is a refined, technically robust fitout that balances heritage sensitivity with modern performance, delivered on time and with a strong focus on craftsmanship, compliance and client intent.
