Bringing this landmark hotel fitout into the 21st Century, Unita delivered a major refurbishment at the five-star Kimpton Margot, including upgrades across 180 guest rooms along with heritage works to the main lobby.

A luxurious wine bar area featuring a wall-to-wall wine rack against a dark blue curtain, high-top round tables, and blush pink velvet bar stools.
A hotel lobby seating area featuring a private corner enclosed by black-framed fluted glass walls, containing a black banquette and surrounded by plush mustard yellow armchairs.

The project also included a private wine cellar, ground-floor restaurant, yoga studio and gym upgrades.
Owned and operated by Pro-Invest and operating under IHG’s Kimpton brand, the hotel is an Australian first.
The refurbishment carefully balanced the needs of a contemporary luxury hotel while respecting the character of the building’s heritage fabric.
Throughout the space, art deco inspired accents introduce bold patterns, rich colours and plush furnishings that nod to the building’s history while creating a vibrant inner-city retreat for guests.
The result is a thoughtfully refreshed hotel experience that blends nostalgia with modern comfort.
