Unita Group Holdings Pty Ltd (ACN 622 274 006) and its related bodies corporate (collectively referred to as Unita, we, us or our) are committed to complying with the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act).
The purpose of this policy is to inform individuals about the way Unita collects and manages personal information. By providing personal information to us, you consent to the use and disclosure of that information in accordance with this policy.

What is personal information?
“Personal information” means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information is true or not and whether recorded in a material form or not.
“Sensitive information” includes information or opinions about an individual’s race, political opinions, trade association membership, religion, sexual orientation, health, genetics, or biometrics.
What kinds of personal information are collected and held by Unita?
Examples include:
- name, job title, and contact details (email, address, phone number);
- company and business contact details;
- financial and payment information (e.g., credit card, bank account);
- employment and HR-related data (resumes, references, qualifications);
- project or transaction information related to our construction, design, joinery, and fit-out activities;
- website and platform usage information (including IP address and device details);
- feedback, surveys, and correspondence with our staff or systems.

How does Unita collect and hold personal information?
Unita collects personal information from:
- individuals directly (e.g., through forms, email, telephone or in-person meetings);
- employees, contractors and suppliers in the course of business;
- clients, consultants, subcontractors and professional service providers;
- publicly available sources (e.g., websites, social media or public records); and
- our digital platforms, websites and systems (which may use cookies or analytics).
We store personal information securely in electronic and physical formats, taking reasonable steps to prevent misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Our websites may use cookies and similar technologies to collect usage data and improve user experience. You can adjust your browser settings to reject cookies, though some features may not function properly.
Purposes for which Unita collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information
Unita may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to:
- deliver design, construction, joinery, and project management services;
- verify identity and manage business relationships;
- communicate with clients, suppliers and partners;
- manage employment, recruitment and HR processes;
- improve our products, services and digital platforms;
- provide marketing communications where permitted by law;
- comply with our legal, safety and regulatory obligations; and
- protect the security and integrity of our business operations.
Unita does not use or disclose sensitive information for direct marketing purposes.

Credit card and payment information
If you provide payment details, we use them solely for processing authorised payments. Information is encrypted and transmitted securely via third-party payment gateways.
Disclosure to other parties
Unita may disclose personal information to:
- related companies within the Unita Group;
- clients, contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers;
- service providers supporting our business (e.g., IT hosting, cloud services, marketing, accounting, finance and legal advisers);
- regulatory authorities and government agencies, where required by law; and
- prospective purchasers or investors in connection with a sale or corporate transaction.
Disclosure outside Australia
Our primary data hosting occurs within Australia. However, certain service providers (e.g., cloud storage, software support) may operate overseas, including in the Philippines. Where information is disclosed internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients comply with Australian privacy standards.
Government-related identifiers
Unita does not use government identifiers (e.g., Tax File Number, driver’s licence) as internal identifiers except where required by law.
Data integrity and security
Unita takes reasonable steps to ensure personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. We encourage individuals to notify us of any inaccuracies.
When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it, unless retention is required by law.
While Unita uses secure systems, we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the Internet, and encourage you to take appropriate precautions.
Sensitive information
If you provide Unita with sensitive information about another person, please ensure that individual has consented to both the disclosure and our handling of their information in accordance with this policy.
De-identified data
Unita may use or disclose de-identified data (that no longer identifies an individual) for statistical analysis, product and service improvement, and business planning purposes.
Automated decision-making systems
Unita does not use personal information in any automated decision-making system that could significantly affect individuals’ rights or interests.
Access and correction
You may request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you by contacting our Privacy Officer.
No charge applies for making a request, although reasonable administrative fees may apply to provide copies of information.
We will verify your identity before releasing or correcting data and respond within a reasonable time.
If we refuse access or correction, we will provide reasons and explain available complaint options.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact our Privacy Officer. We will acknowledge receipt and investigate your complaint, aiming to respond within 30 days:
