design and project management FAQs
Does Unita provide design services?
Yes, but we do it differently. We offer flexible delivery options depending on your needs. You can bring your own designer, we can recommend one from our trusted network, or we can manage a full turnkey design-and-build solution. Whichever way you work, our goal is the same: to bring your vision to life, on time and on budget.
How much does interior design cost per square metre?
Design costs vary depending on project size, complexity and level of detail. Some designers charge a fixed fee, others work on a rate per square metre or a percentage of the total build cost. We can connect you with designers who align with your project scope and budget, and help you understand the investment required to achieve the outcome you want.
How long does designing a space take?
Most design phases run between four and twelve weeks, depending on the project’s size and approvals. The process usually includes concept development, documentation and coordination before construction begins. Engaging your builder early can help streamline this timeline and identify potential buildability issues before they slow things down.
Which interior designers does Unita work with?
We collaborate with some of Australia’s leading design studios, from boutique firms to large multi-disciplinary practices. Our partnerships span hospitality, retail, wellness, workplace and other sectors, allowing us to match each client with a designer who understands their brand, sector and vision.
Can I bring my own designer?
Absolutely, if you’ve already found a designer you love, we’d love to join in the conversation early. Our role is to ensure your design intent is delivered seamlessly through smart project management, value engineering and attention to detail. Together, we’ll build it exactly as envisioned.
What information do you need to prepare a proposal?
To prepare an accurate proposal, we’ll need your design brief, site details, floor plan (if available) and any existing documentation. The more information you share early on, including budget range and project timing, the faster we can prepare realistic costings and a clear delivery plan.
