A celebration of good food, good music and connection through shared experience, Hamsi Taverna brings Mediterranean vibes to Sydney’s landmark Fish Markets precinct.
This fitout was made possible through close collaboration with the designer and client, helping realise the restauranteurs’ long-term dreams, while keeping the financials in check.
With a challenging location and restricted site access, Unita worked closely with Barbara from Alkot Studio to value engineer a cost-effective solution for the bar area. Originally designed as formed concrete, it soon became clear that pouring onsite would not be possible, so Unita devised an alternative that could be partly built offsite, without impacting on its visual impact.
The result is a fitout that aligns with the designers’ intent, reflects the owners’ vision, and is already becoming a fast favourite for locals and visitors alike.
