Sydney’s first custom design hotel has officially opened! Located in Sydney’s inner-city Camperdown precinct, The Collectionist Hotel exists to challenge the way we see and experience hotels. Described as a real-life choose-your-own-adventure the eclectically designed hotel will set a new standard in individualised guest experiences.

Opting away from standardised décor in rooms, The Collectionist commissioned Unita along with the talents of seven designers from four leading design studios, and 13 artists, to create 39 individually designed rooms. Instead of rooms being allocated, guests are invited to peruse available rooms on check-in and choose their room they are most drawn to.

The 39 rooms have been conceived by designers Andrew Cliffe from The World is Round, Yasmine Ghoniem and Katy Svalbe from Amber Road, Susie Willis and Matt Sheargold from Willis Sheargold and Josh Cain and Lily Goodwin from Pattern Studio.

Playing a crucial part in the project’s success was the use of our cloud based construction management software, Nexvia. The ability to show project costs and real-time progress in turn opened clear lines of communication and transparency between each party which was paramount for a seamless build.
