Combining elements from the traditional and contemporary Japanese culture, the new Ramen Zundo Sapporo invites every diner to enjoy this lively and intimate 150sqm space. Taking cues from the name of the venue, Unita and designers Tom Mark Henry worked together to create a space that reflects the “Zundo”, meaning cylindrical pots which are used in the preparation of the ramen served. Pops of colour in the furniture and joinery are contrasted against a raw palette of concrete, steel, brick and charred timber. Whilst the worn linens and leathers further soften the space, a playfulness vibe is provoked through the neon display.
