Revealed: Martha’s Table
Martha’s Table celebrates the beauty of the Mornington Peninsula in one breathtaking, impeccably designed and expertly built project.
Brought to life by interior construction company, Unita, from early engagement and guided through to construction and completion, Martha’s Table is the first fully-licensed venue in the newly completed development Martha Cove. The site boasts picturesque views of the marina which sets the tone for the visual feast tucked inside its doors.
Conceived by renowned Australian designer, Melissa Collison, and the fit-out features a range of beautiful hard finishes, technically complex joinery and luxurious stone work, the space is divided into four distinctive yet cohesive zones to accommodate both fine and casual dining, as well as a European market style grocer and boutique wine cellar.
While the finished project speaks for itself, it goes without saying that a project of this scale and intricacy had its challenges.
One such challenge came from the obvious complexity of the multi-faceted project. A full kitchen, café, fine-dining restaurant, bar, cellar and grocer all within 600sqm meant high-level coordination was integral to success. A project manager was based on-site for the duration of the project to support the site manager with both the technical detail and coordination of specialist trades and materials.
In addition to this, intricate details are found in every corner of the space, both in joinery and procured materials and as a result, there was serious potential for delays in the project schedule.
With handmade tiles from Italy and Greece, rugs from Mumbai, wallpaper from France and custom-made soap dispensers from the UK, it took careful planning and the team’s extensive expertise to ensure every measure was taken to mitigate delays.
In contrast to Martha’s Table’s global influences, the joinery was truly Australian made. Crafted in-house at Unita’s Manufacturing Facility, the process provided complete control of delivery while also guaranteeing unsurpassed quality.
The excellence of the craftsmanship is everywhere you look- from the sweeping curves of rattan that form the bespoke booth seating to the 20-metre-long, duck-egg blue feature bar topped with zinc and fluted glass gantry, every detail is executed with absolute precision.
The end result is a visually stunning hospitality destination that playfully references everything Martha Cove and the Mornington Peninsula have to offer, in a fit-out that will last the test of time.
“Unita’s team was always professional, very welcoming and very accomodating. The team of professionals that work on site or behind the scenes are always very helpful. They were always there for us to make our life easier throughout the fit-out, especially through any challenging phases we encountered.”
