Hospitality

BUILT BY UNITA | Martha’s Table – Safety Beach, VIC

Nestled on a waterfront location in Safety Beach, Martha’s Table is a testament to the beauty of the Mornington Peninsula. The venue offers a range of amenities, including a restaurant, bar, grocer, and cellar all in one place, making it an all-rounder for Safety Beach locals. 

Engaged by Balmain, the team utilised Unita’s in-house manufacturing capabilities to craft the venue’s detailed joinery, decorative metal work, solid surfaces and custom furniture to construct a venue that will last the test of time, both in its quality and visual appeal. 

Designed by Melissa Collison, Martha’s Table has a chic and modern take on nautical style, incorporating deep blues and dark wooden features. This beautiful venue was shortlisted for the 2020 Australian Interior Design Awards in the retail and hospitality sectors, a reflection of the impressive work of the Unita VIC team and Melissa Collison. 

Retail

BUILT BY UNITA | Armadillo – Fitzroy, VIC

Our VIC team delivered Unita’s second project with powerhouse rug brand, Armadillo, located in a restored warehouse in the hub of Fitzroy.

Working in partnership with Studio Goss, our team designed a high-end retail space that exceeds expectations and beautifully showcases Armadillo’s products. The team demonstrated their expert craftsmanship by removing and lowering a concrete slab that once interrupted the functionality of the space, ensuring the integrity of the heritage warehouse was upheld.

Sustainability is a core aspect of Armadillo’s mission, ergo the team utilised ethical materials throughout the construction process. A Sustainable Design Assessment was undertaken at the planning stage, resulting in a beautifully built, ethical showroom that is a phenomenal addition to Unita and Armadillo’s ongoing partnership. 

Workplace

BUILT BY UNITA | Australian Business Growth Fund – Melbourne, VIC

At Unita, we understand that a workplace is more than just a physical location for a 9 to 5. It is a place for employees to feel supported and comfortable, which is what the Unita VIC team delivered for the Australian Business Growth Fund (ABGF). 

The team, in collaboration with Collectivus, were engaged by the business to design and construct an office that is not only visually pleasing, but is also a bright and calming space. The team paid special attention to enhancing the natural light and open plan layout to foster a culture of collaboration and productivity among employees.

To ensure the consistency and quality of the joinery, the team took advantage of Unita’s in-house manufacturing, which enabled the creation of bespoke pieces that are unique to the ABGF office. Additionally, with great care and attention, the building’s heritage status was considered while incorporating exceptional skills to deliver a workplace that is both functional and beautiful.

Wellness

BUILT BY UNITA | CorePlus – Rosebud, VIC & Saint Haven – Collingwood, VIC

When it comes to the wellness sector, it is difficult to pick a favourite! We’ve had to narrow it down to two projects: CorePlus Rosebud and the team’s newest completed project, Saint Haven. 

The Rosebud location marks Unita’s first project with CorePlus, and the VIC team kicked it off with a bang! Partnered with the talented team at Techne Architecture + Interior Design, the team delivered this beautiful studio in just under five weeks. Boasting a light-filled interior, the studio has beautiful curved fluted glass, arched hallways and incredible bathroom facilities. 

Saint Haven, Melbourne’s new private wellness club, is one of Unita VIC’s most luxurious builds to date. Engaged by Gurner Group, the Unita VIC team built the luxury facility inspired by the opulence of Italian grotto-like bathhouses and elite private social clubs alongside Warren and Mahoney Architects. Boasting multiple studios for specialised forms of exercise and wellness treatments, lounge spaces, pools and a wellness bar, Saint Haven sets a new standard for wellness club.
