Is This Australia’s Most Stylish Medical Clinic Fit-Out?
A visit to the plastic surgeon or cosmetic injector will mean next-level luxury at a state of the art clinic launched in Brisbane this month. The Sharp Clinic at South Brisbane offers plastic surgery and cosmetic medicine, with a first class lounge or boutique hotel experience not previously seen in Brisbane.
For director Liz Washington, her third clinic to open is the culmination of a decade spent consulting to the aesthetic medicine industry, before launching Dr David Sharp Plastic Surgery and The Sharp Aesthetic Medicine clinics in Brisbane and Ipswich.
“For many people who visit our clinics, its the beginning of a new chapter in their lives – sometimes, its the first thing they’ve done for themselves in decades. so the gravity of their time in the clinic, and what that might represent to them, is never lost on us. Every visit is special, and so we wanted a special space,” Ms Washington said.
Interior Design by Collectivus and built by Unita – the creative team behind fit outs for Mulberry, Aje and Sass and Bide – the new clinic speaks of modern elegance and a patient experience that has been considered in every aspect. “From discretion at the front reception desk through to private, draped waiting lounges and a secluded, comfortable space for our non surgical and recovery patients in our massage nook, our patients’ comfort was at the forefront of the design. Comprising the ground floor of the Atlas apartment building in Cordelia Street, the location enables patients to have surgery at the adjacent Southbank Day Hospital or nearby Greenslopes Private Hospital – and then rest and recuperate in beautifully appointed accommodation upstairs upon discharge,” Dr Sharp said.
“This full service practice model exists in other states but is new to Brisbane. Plastic surgery is all about making people feel comfortable in their own skin; patients often come to us feeling excitement, trepidation and every in-between – so the clinic is designed with comfort, discretion and relaxation in mind,” Dr Sharp said.
